About Calderdale Community Forum

Calderdale Community Forum (CCF) is a network of Third Sector groups and organisations within Calderdale. CCF provides a voice for the Third Sector by strengthening and developing the sector into a cohesive body to articulate the views of the wider community effectively in a climate of equal partnership with statutory and other partner agencies.

CCF provides a medium for consultation, between the Third Sector and statutory agencies and a platform for organisations from both sectors to identify and discuss issues of common concern and agree action to address those issues. CCF provides a means to enable the participation of Third Sector organisations in the planning of services and issues relating to changes to services.

CCF provides a representational structure for the Third Sector to participate as a partner within Calderdale Forward to influence and engage with the Local Area Agreement (LAA) and the Calderdale Futures plan and to contribute to the primary objective of the Local Area Agreement is to develop genuinely sustainable communities and better outcomes for local people.

CCF has a sub group structure which mirrors that of the LAA Themes of Safer and Stronger, Economy and Enterprise, Children and Young People, Environment, Healthier Communities and Older People. Two representatives from subgroups are members of the LAA Thematic Partnerships.

Elected representatives from CCF represent the Third Sector on the Calderdale Forward Board, striving to ensure that voice of the sector is included taken to the appropriate agendas by the appropriate agency outside of Calderdale.

Work in the themes of Healthier Communities and is further supported within CCF by the work of the Health Development Worker who facilitates the involvement of VCS groups to meet certain LAA targets for example, weight loss, breastfeeding and reducing harm of alcohol.

Work in the Childrens and Young Peoples theme is supported through the Network Development Officer who facilitates the engagement of Third Sector organisations with the wider Children and Young People's agenda and developments.
